Steps to reproduce:

From approx July10, Aurora is no longer "opening windows and tabs from last time" (still set in Preferences).
In History menu, "Restore Previous Session" and "Recently Closed Tabs" are greyed-out.
The pages themselves are being remembered and shown in History and "Library".
In History menu, "Restore Previous Session" and "Recently Closed Tabs" are greyed-out.

Could you try reproducing this issue in Safe mode? (Help-restart with add-ons disabled)
Sorry for being MIA (summer holidays :)

It wasn't affected by add-ons at the time, but two daily builds after my reporting it (July 5th), the buggy behaviour disappeared and previous sessions started reappearing.

Interesting: upon the first restart after installing the July 15th daily build, the immediately prior session reopened, but -also- another window with the first missing session from the July 10th appeared! (no missing sessions between the two showed up)   Hmm....
