Mozilla build is missing msvcr71.dll This makes it impossible to start some of the included tools, for example "blat" the command line mailer. I do have the file, it's also located on the Windows VM used for Mozilla building. I tried to find an official download site from Microsoft, but failed. It appears, the old Microsot C++ .net 2003 redistributable package is no longer available. I found one pointer to a dotnetfx.exe but on modern Windows systems, the system recommends against installing of the full package, because of compatibility issue. I propose to uploade Mozilla Build to include file msvcr71.dll - which should be legitimate. Shipping the redistributable together with built applications is what MS seems to recommend.
msvcr71.dll 348160 bytes sha1sum: d5502a1d00787d68f548ddeebbde1eca5e2b38ca msvcr71.dll md5sum: 86f1895ae8c5e8b17d99ece768a70732 msvcr71.dll
I should have this on my XP box as well, if it helps people.
Callek, this bug should be assigned to the person who is likely to do the next update of the mozilla-build package. Who is that?
I think this is WONTFIX at this point, agreed? Honestly, I don't know why blat is even included at this point. IIUC, its original purpose was tinderbox-related?
blat is removed. I'm calling this WONTFIX. Feel free to reopen with stern objections if you feel otherwise.
