User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1 Build ID: 20120614114901 Steps to reproduce: Running FF 13.0.1 Macbook pro 17" first gen intel core duo OSX 10.6.8. Been happening since the new firefox was loaded many months ago. At first I thought it was iffy wifi but others around me have no problems. Cruising the net doing this that or the other when suddenly I click to open a page - any page - and firefox stops communicating with the internet. Actual results: I don't think it has anything to do with the page, I think it just stops communicating and I notice it when I try to open a page. Or I notice it when my download stops showing changes on the amount/sec for the download (the number freezes). I cannot open any page, it's almost like I am not connected to the internet. BUT, oddly enough, the progress wheel keeps a turning until it times out like it's connected unlike if I turn off the wifi it will automatically jump to the page saying it's not connected to the internet. While this is happening, if I turn off my wifi it WILL go to that page. So it seems FF believes it's still connected but it is not. I can fix the problem 3 ways - unfortunately at the loss of time downloading something cuz I can't continue the download. 1st fix, turn off my wifi then turn it on and it reconnects to the net like no problems. 2nd fix, restart the wifi... when it comes on, my computer reconnects and FF reconnects 3rd fix, restart my computer Ibviousely the first fix is what I do but I lose my downloads. Before you say it's my computer, while it's happening I can open a browser window from Safari (Which has been booted up - just not running it at the time) and safari runs fine while FF doesn't. I found something similar on bugzilla but it was a windows machine. I thought it important to differentiate Expected results: it's obvious what should have happened. FF should just stay connected
Hi. You should use the enduser support board for troubleshooting, it's more appropriate than Bugzilla. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can?s=firefox+connecting+internet&r=0&e=es&as=s Can you follow the troubleshooting steps listed here and report if you still see or do not see any issue afterwards?
Hello, I just found your old bug report and saw that you never give a feedback. can we close it or do you still have problems? thanks for your help. Stefan
