Steps:

1. Go to marketplace.mozilla.org and install any app (e.g. Lord of Ultima)
2. Check the logs

Expected:

_putApp should be executed indicating that the app was successfully synced to the cloud.

Actual:

_putApp is never called. The following error is seen in the logs:

1342491930926	Service.AITC.Manager	ERROR	Error in _getToken: TokenServerClientServerError: Non 200 response code: 401

Going onto a different FF profile, it appears the app was never synced to the cloud. Sounds like the failure is happening when we try to get the Browser ID token.

Please don't test AITC now. The stage token server is undergoing maintenance.

Ah, that would explain the problems I hit. Is there an email thread I should watch for maintenance notifications?

Hmm, not sure this was announced on email, but we discovered the issue on IRC earlier today. The problem was caused by the recent redirect from browserid.org to login.persona.org. A fix was deployed to the dev server, and is yet to be pushed to the stage server.
:jsmith - yes, sometimes this does not make it to an email thread or list.
The reason may be that the list of "customers" for TokenServer Stage and Pro is rather small right now ;-)

If you follow #aitc and #tokenserver, then hopefully you will always know the very latest.

I will also try to do a better job about getting the word out to the services-qa list or more directly to you and John.
