User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 Build ID: 20120713134347 Steps to reproduce: Set "plugins.click_to_play" to "true" in about:config, then went to http://www.imdb.com and attempted to watch a trailer. Actual results: The link to activate plugins doesn't show. Instead, a slide show appears where the video should be. Resetting "plugins.click_to_play" to default enables trailers to play properly. Expected results: The link to activate the plugin should have appeared.

xircal: if you wouldn't mind taking a screenshot of what you're seeing, it would be helpful. And just to confirm, you're on Firefox 14.0.1, right?
(In reply to David Keeler from comment #1) > xircal: if you wouldn't mind taking a screenshot of what you're seeing, it > would be helpful. And just to confirm, you're on Firefox 14.0.1, right? I've discovered a workaround. On the imdb.com site at least, the trailers can be activated via the purple plugin icon which appears in the location bar. After choosing to "Always activate plugins on this site", the user only needs to exit the site and then reload it again after which the trailers will play normally. Unfortunately, I cannot take a screenshot now since the purple plugin icon in the location bar no longer appears and therefore there's no way of reverting to the previous configuration. I am using FF 14.0.1 though.

Thanks for the screenshot. I see this in 14 and 15, but not 16. I would resolve it as a duplicate, but none of the click-to-play bug fixes that landed in 16 (that I know of) seem to be the same as this. Maybe Josh knows what fixed this.
Mozregression found this bug is fixed by bug 749455.
