User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20120715 Firefox/14.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.11 Build ID: 20120715041107 Steps to reproduce: In logging into SeaMonkey Mail & Newsgroups, frequently it either does not remain logged in or it crashes before completing the login. Actual results: This problem began since recent Java and Flash Player updates. SeaMonkey crashes after first trying to log into Mail & Newsgroups. It often requires more than one attempt at login. It either will not stay open or will not permit login. Expected results: It should have stayed open and allowed paging from one message to the next.
As a test (& this would pertain to all of your bugs) ... Create a new, clean Profile, no extensions. Open News, log in ... Any problems? If so, then disable Plugins, restart your browser & retry. Edit | Preferences | Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins => Enable Plugins for, Suite (uncheck).
Go to about:config make sure that dom.ipc.plugins.enabled is set to true. if you have something like dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32_11_2_202_233.dll make sure it is also set to true. Latest Adobe flashplayers have a protected sandbox mode that crashes if Out of Process Plugins is not enabled. Note latest
To answer Mr. Chee, I do not find any of the items he named. Just now I implemented therube's suggestions. So far SeaMonkey is slow.
Under the new profile, without addons or plugins, I can log into Mail, but browsing is slow.
