776779 - New Folder function does not work when creating a new bookmark

Steps to reproduce:

Ctl-D to create a bookmark.

Expanded "Bookmarks Menu" folder.

Bookmarks Menu highlighted.

Click create new folder.

Folder called "New Folder" is instantly created, but you can not rename, it is instantly set to the name "New Folder"


Actual results:

If you then double click on that folder, it appears that you can rename it. But, it almost instantly un-highlights. You have about 1/2 a second to start typing. It will also un-highlight (finish) in the middle of typing.

Once you do type a new name, say "test", instead of renaming "new folder" to "test", it renames the next folder below to "test".

I my case the next folder below is the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. (Now renamed "test".)

Original "New Folder" under "Bookmarks Menu" remains named "New Folder"

Webpage being book marked gets placed in the now mis-named "Unsorted Books" folder, rather than the apparently renamed "New Folder" folder.


Expected results:

The "New Folder" folder should be editable / re-nameable at the time you are creating the new folder and book mark. It should not time out at all, allowing time to enter the name of your new folder.

It should re-name the folder selected, not the one below it. And it should place the bookmark in that folder rather than the on below it.

This used to work in Firefox 3.6 series. Has not worked correctly since upgrading to 6 through current 14.

I see no such Behavior over here.

Is your Issue reproducible without Extensions in Safe-Mode and/or using a new Profile?
