Hey Creative team,

We're working on putting together some outdoor advertising for Toronto in August/September. We're currently waiting on the location proposals from a local media company, but I wanted to get this on your radar that once we have the locations and sizes sorted out, we'll need to turn creative around pretty quickly. So heads up! I'll post more information as soon as I have it.

Thanks!
Chelsea

According to Kristin this basically would be a reworking of our existing Bay Area creative. Does that sound right?

Am wondering about what kind of resources would be needed for this.

fyi, we are seeing a media plan on Thursday. Will have a better idea of what's needed after that time.

Toronto billboard ad preparation specs

Hey guys,

So sorry for the short notice on this but we just learned that we need to deliver the final artwork on Thursday August 16. So two days from now. We just got the specs from Mindshare on the Toronto billboard about 30 mins ago.

Kristin has asked EC1 for the mobile artwork, but we'll need it re-sized as per the file preparation doc I'm attaching.

Kristin will update this bug once she has the files from EC1.

The ad we are using is:

Big ideals.
For your small screen.

Will post the art that can be edited from EC1 once we get it.

Hi there. I'm not sure what is needed here. I see the link to the art file but what type of edits are we looking to have? what are the specs? without knowing those details I don't know how to help.

All the production specs are in the PDF attachment above.

The copy being used is (Kristin, please correct if wrong):

Big ideals.
For your small screen.
mozilla.org/firefox

Let us know if there's something in the production specs that's missing for you.

Toronto billboard PDF proof

hey guys--
I just resized this artwork to fit the specs they attached and added the bleed they require. They want the native InDesign files, so I am attaching the link to the file folder here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fghltyla325ro6v/MOZ_Toronto_board%20Folder.zip

Let me know if you need anything else for this.

It looks good to me. What do you think Kristin?

Currently that URL redirects here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

It feels like this would be a better fit:

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/

Kristin, we should check with LoFo and/or Chris More to see if we can re-direct or if we should use another URL.

The ad looks great.

Good call on the URL, Chelsea. Agree, i am concerned that we are using firefox.org in a lot of places not all of which should be going to the mobile page. Maybe we set up a redirect for firefox.org/mobile? What do you think?

Amazingly enough, we don't actually seem to own firefox.org, but both firefox.com/mobile and mozilla.org/mobile go to the new mobile page. Would that work as a landing page for this?

Just had a mid-air collision with Matej's comments, but here are my (now slightly out of date) thoughts:

We actually don't own the firefox.org domain, fwiw.

I would suggest two possible options:
1. create a redirect that points to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/#mobile. For example, we used mozilla.org/fxandroid for a recent video CTA.
2. point directly to http://www.mozilla.org/mobile. It's more of a general page (covers B2G, etc) focused on our overall mobile story rather than just Android, but it's a nice URL and the broader approach might be best anyway.

Comment 18

My original preference was to drive to this page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/. But I just had a conversastion in my head where I talked myself into driving to mozilla.org/mobile.

Lets use that URL.
The only problem with the suggestions in comment 17 is that then the ad doesn't say Firefox anywhere on it. How about a redirect from something like mozilla.org/firefoxmobile

Comment 20

Matej and I just chatted and we agree lets set up mozilla.org/firefoxmobile and drive to the page John suggested.

Chelsea, can you get that set up? Thanks so much!

Will do. I'll file bugs on that asap.

I'm not sure if Rhonda is out today or not as per Tara's note, but we need someone to update the ad today with mozilla.org/firefoxmobile, yes? Then we can send the final creative to mindshare.

John/Tara, is there someone who can make the correction available today?

Kristin, can you confirm where you want the URL to go? Is it mozilla.org/mobile (with all the mobile stuff including B2G) or http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/. I've gotten it confused I think. sorry!

Lee, can you help us make a super quick change to this billboard creative? It's just updating the files from comment #12 so the URL reads mozilla.org/firefoxmobile.

(needed today)

Thanks!

In response to comment 24.

I know it got confusing, sorry. It should go to this page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/ (the one with the B2G stuff. Matej, talked me into it. :))
