777662 - Confirmation Email is not received for new registered users

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load AMO registration page https://addons-dev.allizom.org/en-US/firefox/users/register
2. Register a new user
3. Check your email for Confirmation link

Expected results:
An email is sent containing the account confirmation link.

Actual results:
No email is received.

Notes/Issues:
Verified in FF14 (Win7).

In fixing bug 768916, we now send fake mail now.

In all other cases we always want to send fake mail. This may be a legitimate exception for QA/users testing -dev.

The activation links are not valid on fake email and I was not able to register a new user.

I was able to confirm an account yesterday with stephend off of a confirm URL.  Maybe there were multiple confirm emails in the queue and you picked one with a different code?
