If you edit a header that has a custom class or ID (such as the ones that automatically get icons next to them, as seen here: https://developer-new.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/CSS), the custom class and ID get lost. In the case of landing pages like this one, that means those special icons and fonts get lost.
ID's are generated out of the content of headings, so changing to CSS classes would be recommended.

Per classes getting stripped, I'll look into that.
After testing, I'm seeing that custom CSS classes are *not* being stripped.  I'm tempted to WONTFIX this, to be honest.

I really, really think setting IDs should be avoided;  I'm not seeing a compelling argument for setting using them over classes.
