User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20120729042010
Steps to reproduce:
play 'youtube' video with music. switch to Anything else, window, desktop, running app, another mozilla instance - Anything else
Actual results:
video, Audio becomes Very jumpy, skipping and freezes.
Processor time percentage goes to 40, 50, 60 + % memory usage is from 280k K to 489k K (489,000 K)
the system, opneSuSE Linux 12.1 (.2), KDE 4.8.4 (release 513), kernel: Linux 3.1.10-1.16-desktop i686, Dell Latitude D630 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, 172.2 GB free.. running in 1280x800 dpi
Expected results:
the video, specifically the audio should play without error, deflection, or 'jumpiness' .
I should NOT lag so bad that on Linux, i can Not Alt+tab to get a screen capture of the process manages display.
This has been getting worse over the last 2 weeks, starting or increasing in severity with the release of 16.0a2.

p.s., working on anything other than mozilla, Aurora 16.x is almost impossible, most of the time.

The plugin-container is only a small shell around each different plugin.
The used CPU and memory is used by the plugin itself.

again, by the time I'm able to Alt+Tab to my screencaptuer and get process manager to come up, the numbers are lower. I'm almost locking up and container is using More than a Gig (1 GB) RAM by itself.

How do I tell Which 'plugin' is using the process?
I would guess, youtube, it's that **** 'flashplayer', eh.

Adobe's flashplay for Linux site says it will no longer be updating flash for Linux and the version i'm already running, 11.2.202.236 is the end of it's support

Are you still able to reproduce this with the latest Firefox 24 and Flash 11.2.202.310 ?

A workaround could be disabling flash (at least on YouTube) and using Gstreamer on Linux (Firefox 30 has support for Gstreamer 1.x). There's also MSE and OpenH264 (and ESE, unfortunately) coming in the next few months so at least video sites should no longer require Flash in any way.
