Blake Ross wishes to relinquish his ownership of the Evangelism Component on Bugzilla due to other duties in mozilla.org. The Technology Evangelism/Developer Support (TE/DS) group at Netscape has agreed to take over responsibilities for Evangelism for mozilla.org. Please use mozilla-evangelism@netscape.com for the email address for the Evangelism Component Owner. Please use mozilla-evangelism-qa@netscape.com for the email address for the default QA contact for the Evangelism Component. The manager of the TE/DS group is Chris Nalls (chrisn@netscape.com).
It's interesting that a mailing list is used as the contacts. We (kerz and I) had tried this a while back and found that notifications on changes never made it to the mailing list. Did you find that it works now, Bob?
If it does not work then we will have to find an alternate solution. I was under the assumption that a couple of groups were already doing this (exceptions to the rule. I'm not going to let any code module have a default owner that is not a human being). Didn't blake and the OS/2 team have lists set up? Right now we have a "watching" technology in bugzilla that allows users to get mail when some other account get's mail so one personn could take the Assignee spot and others could watch him. In the near future we should have component watching working which will be a better solution. Myk has this work finished and I think it's just awaiting review.
It seems to work fine in bugscape for our internal evangelism. I am not sure if I have been missing things. I can check and get back to you.
After discussing it with Asa, we have decided to have the Evangelism Owner be me (bclary@netscape.com). I think it would be best if Zach remained default QA until he decides he doesn't want it anymore.

vrfy fixed. this was superceeded by bug 86997 which promoted Evangelism from a Browser Component into its own Product
