From bug 76460 ... A user cannot go back to the license screen of the Mozilla installer once they have accepted the terms of the MPL. This breaks the general back/forward navigation of the installer, making the UI less obvious than it otherwise might be. So, I suggest that the license be shown in a separate dialog, which must be accepted before the installer window itself opens. Rough mockup ... +-----------------------------------------------------+ |:::::::::::::::: Welcome to Mozilla ::::::::::::::::H| +-----------------------------------------------------+ | You must accept the terms of this license agreement | | before you can install Mozilla. | | +-------------------------------------------------+ | | | | | : : : : : : : : | | | | | +-------------------------------------------------+ | | | | ( Print ... ) ( Decline ) (( Accept )) | +-----------------------------------------------------+ Doing this would be necessary anyway, as a first step towards a method of installation which uses a self-mounting disk image rather than an installer app. The license dialog, and nothing else, would need to be accepted before the disk image could be opened -- as in any modern Microsoft application for the Mac, for example.

There shouldn't be a license dialog in the installer. The MPL gives rights rather than taking them away, and it applies to source code rather than binaries.

Section 3.6 of the MPL requires binaries to include a notification about the license and source code availability (not quite the same thing as including the license itself).

Would it be enough to include a link to http://www.mozilla.org/source.html in Help > About? If I wanted the source code to another program, I wouldn't even think of downloading and running the installer a second time. Especially if I had downloaded a zip build :) I would look in Help > About and I'd look for a text file in the bin\ directory.
