78090 - Java Plugin Install via FTP not connecting to ftp.netscape.com although site is accessible

Mozilla is unable to download java 2 plugin from ftp.netscape.com although ftp
site is accesible from computer, freezes at the connecting stage.  Subsequent
attemts to download leave unclosable "Software Installation" windows.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
This web page has a java applet on it, and I don't have the Java plug-in installed.
As expected mozilla pops up a "Java 2 Plug-in Download Page" window and asks to
download the Java plugin. it gets to the point where it tries to download the
plugin from ftp.netscape.com and it prints "connecting to ftp.netscape.com" in
the status bar. It then freezes in that state for a few minutes until it says
that it has failed to download the plugin.
Subsequent attempts at downloading the plugin again by clicking on "Java 2
Windows Plug-In" button yield download windows that can't be closed.

Actual Results:  After 3 or 4 tries the plug-in was installed.

Expected Results:  Plug-in should have downloaded without problems, "cancel"
button should work in Software install windows.
    Even if an error occured while downloading a plug-in there should be an
option to retry the download.

As mentioned above ftp.netscape.com is accesible from my computer.

Worksforme with 071004 mozilla win32 build on win2K and win98 and 071008 mozilla
linux build on RedHat 6.2  Please reopen if you are still seeing this with a
current nightly build. Thanks for your help in testing Mozilla and reporting bugs.
