We have templates that generated navigation breadcrumbs we don't need any longer.
Plan to get rid of these:
1) Edit all these templates to comment their content out and add a specific tag for these templates, like "kuma-obselete"
=> It will remove the generated navigation
2) With the site-wise find-and-replace feature, find all instances of these templates and remove them.
The hierarchy in these templates is somewhat different than on the system breadcrumbs.

The system-generated breadcrumbs are not much visible and are not obviously links.

If we can solve these 2 problems, I'm all for removing the breadcrumbs templates.
Perhaps we should look at restyling the standard breadcrumbs then, to make them look more like links or buttons you can click? Like a subtle button effect (maybe little slightly-paler-than-background bubbles or something).
Sheppy: Good point in comment 2. Can you open a separate bug for that? Might want to do that as part of the redesign.
