782064 - New mail / draft will be discarded on server error (imap)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_8) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.75 Safari/537.1

Steps to reproduce:

Wrote a valid mail and tried to send it. 


Actual results:

After trying to send the email I got a popup with the following warning msg 

"Fehler beim Senden der Nachricht: Der Mail-Server hat keine korrekte Begrüßung gesendet: 4.7.1 Please try again later."

That warning seems to come because of my mail server. Sometimes I have to try it more often when I am behind a TOR proxy. So far okay but after that Thunderbird discardes my mail! There is no copy in drafts or something like that. No way to get the mail I have written or to try again.


Expected results:

THunderbird should ask me if I want to try it later and save my mail into drafts and not discard it.

Besids of that the mail is archived in the local "sent folder", even it was not sent.

Same phenomenon as bug 780124?
