782444 - sorting thread view not logical (I think)

I activates 'Sort by' > 'Threaded'

messages within the thread were sorted as follows:
Bart			11/07		00:26
  Lore	 [2]		11/07		10:59
  Lisbeth [3]		11/07		22:19
  Celine [1]		11/07		07:49
    Bart [b]		11/07		23:04
    Hans [a]		12/07		10:52
      Bart		11/07		23:14
        Hans		12/07		10:57
  Tessa			12/07		12:50
  Kathleen		14/07		12:48
    Bart		14/07		13:57

Logically, I expected:
Bart			11/07		00:26
  Celine [1]		11/07		07:49
    Hans [a]		11/07		10:52
      Bart		11/07		23:14
        Hans		12/07		10:57
    Bart [b]		11/07		23:04
  Lore	 [2]		11/07		10:59
  Lisbeth [3]		11/07		22:19
    Tessa		12/07		12:50
  Kathleen		14/07		12:48
    Bart		14/07		13:57

I can't see why sort order now is [2] [3] [1]  and  [b] [a] ?

A little request beside:

make the 'Click to display message threads' button (leftmost column in the header of the message list pane) a 3-state button:

 1. Sort by, Threaded + Collapse all threads
 2. Sort by, Threaded + Expand all threads
 3. Sort by, Unthreaded

Can't be to difficult :-)

A description is great but we can't do much with comment 0 without a testcase. Please attach a testcase folder
