(Whiteboard: [devhub-v1])

The devhub's developer subsite has a code it/SDK section. We want to point to tutorials that people can check out to learn from.

Please identify a page on MDN (or work that needs to happen) to cover this.

Some example tutorials we might want to point to come to mind:
- david walsh's huge tutorial
- jlongster's weatherme tutorial

I wonder if this overlaps with bug 782389. I am happy to discuss. What do you think?
The deadline for this content is: Monday August 20, end of day. Let me know if you have any questions.

Weatherme tutorial has been moved to MDN and is ready to be pulled into devhub:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Apps/Tutorials/Weather_app_tutorial
The general tutorial (David Walsh's) is split up into an intro page and several sub-pages here:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Apps/Tutorials/General

I cleaned up all these pages for the release and they are ready except for one page about paid apps:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Apps/Tutorials/General/Profiting_from_your_app

I understand there will not be any paid apps or in-app payments for the Aug 28 release, and I was going to keep this page and just put a disclaimer at the top of it like this:

"Note: Currently the Mozilla Marketplace is accepting only free apps. You will have to wait until later to submit a paid app or an app with in-app payments."

Is this okay?

hmm, not sure if that's entirely accurate. CCing Wil, can you clarify? Thanks.
Payments are still planned for FirefoxOS on Aug 28th.
Jen: How do you suggest we put several tutorials into the tutorial section?
Please assign this to Jen when you think this is ready to be included. Thanks!
If they are linking to MDN content that already exists, we will have Javascript functionality to force it to open in a new window for now. Otherwise, let me know where you want it to display (navigation-wise) and I can add them as being part of these docs (in terms of look and feel).
I'm going to make a section under SDK called Tutorials where all tutorials will be. So just send me the links on MDN to all the individual tutorials (right now I assume that is two - James and David)

You are right. These are the two tutorials we will have:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Apps/Tutorials/Weather_app_tutorial
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Apps/Tutorials/General

According to a Caitlin Galimidi email today, the payments engine and processing will not be enabled until closer to the October timeframe. So payments will not work for any platform, including Firefox OS, for the Aug 28 release. I am adding the following note to the top of several MDN pages having to do with app payments:

"Note: Paid apps and in-app payments are currently disabled in the Mozilla Marketplace (August 2012). It is expected that they will be available again in October 2012."
Duping this against bug 782389 which covers example apps. We decided to make these two things a common section "tutorials and example apps" under the getting started section. This way, we don't duplicate content.
