For external frameworks which want to report test results to MozTrap it would be very helpful when a revision number would exist for a test case version. That way the framework could check if the written test still equals to the one in MozTrap or if the latter has been changed. Test results should only be accepted if the revision id is correct. The revision id should be an auto-incremented integer field which gets increased by 1 for each edit of the case version. Whenever a new product version gets created and the tests are getting duplicated by Moztrap, the revision ids should stay the same. Means no reset to 0 should happen. There would be two benefits from: 1. Even a couple of product versions later we know how many times the test has been updated since it has originally been created. 2. All the automated tests will not have to be updated and can still report test results after a version bump of the product under test.

Bumping severity to major to emphase the importance of the bug. As talked with Cameron, he will try to get this done with a higher priority. Thanks!

A Pivotal Tracker story has been created for this Bug: http://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/41554537
Mass-closing remaining MozTrap bugs as WONTFIX, due to 1) the Mozilla-hosted instance being decommissioned (see https://wiki.mozilla.org/TestEngineering/Testrail), and, for now, 2) the still-up code archived at its GitHub page: https://github.com/mozilla/moztrap (we'll decide what's next for that, in the near future). See also the history and more-detailed discussion which led us here, at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.quality/Sa75hV8Ywvk (If you'd like, you should be able to filter these notification emails using at least the unique string of "Sa75hV8Ywvk" in the message body. Thanks!
