Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20120715 Firefox/14.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.11 Build ID: 20120715043840 Steps to reproduce: Select the message/friend/notifications drop down boxes. Tried to post a comment to a Wall post or using custom lists rather than News Feed. View more stories on News Feed, custom lists and Walls. Actual results: If I try to select the message/friend/notifications drop down boxes, the action does not happen. The box does not go live when I try to post a comment anywhere other than News Feed page. The text remains grey and nothing will post. Restricted to just a few posts. Expected results: I should be able to do everything stated. I have tried a new Profile and using Safe Mode and the problem does not seem to be occurring due to a bad addon and after trying several times then doing preferences one by one (restarting after each), the problem occurred when I changed Cookie Retention Policy to "Ask". This then also occurred with Firefox when I changed it to Ask too.
If "Cookie Retention Policy" is changed back to normal, Facebook works fine. This is not my preferred choice though.
"ask" is not supported by Gecko according to bz.....
It's very odd as it's always worked before and stopped when I did my last update.
Did you try "Ask" plus [X] except for session cookies?
I have and it still doesn't work. This issue also appears if select "Keep until: ask me every time" under Firefox's custom settings.
This is a duplicate of either: Bug 783677 - Facebook Requiring manual Cookie exception (Networking::Cookies) Bug 783358 - With (cookies) set to Keep Until: "ask me every time " Notifications and other items do not work at Facebook (Firefox) Setting DUP to 783358 Also see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/934942#answer-360935
