As per my email conversation with Leslie:
The JavaScript team has several audiences that would be effectively reached by a team blog. Firstly, we are at the forefront of the EcmaScript 6 standard via discussion and our implementation. Secondly, there is a small but important contingent of JavaScript engine embedders who would also benefit from one authoritative source on the current state and recent changes. Finally, we also have a small but very active community of contributors who recently asked for a single source of JS team news in the newgroups. Currently there are several disparate sources including personal developer blogs but no official and consistent source of information for our contributors.

For the reasons stated above, and in line with suggested Blog Guidelines, the Communications team supports the creation of this blog. Regards, Leslie

Leslie - thnx for the note.
Naveed - all our blogs are under blog.mozilla.org. we can add a javascript "path" to this service, but first want to confirm what you want it called? would blog.mozilla.com/javascript be appropriate? or maybe ../js ? also, can you please provide me with a list of users who will be contributing content as authors and who you want as administrators of this blog?

Name: blog.mozilla.com/javascript
Admins: nihsanullah@mozilla.com,
dmandelin@mozilla.com,
danderson@mozilla.com(dvander@alliedmods.net)
Contributor: can we say all members of the JS team and let us admins ok occasional content from contributors?
Bill McCloskey has our inaugural blog posting waiting so I wouldn't hold up the blog creation on the contributor list. If that requires further discussion can we start with wmmcloskey@mozilla as the first contrib and add more later?
Thanks

thnx for the update Naveed. i meant to ask, since it's required for setup, what the official blog title should be? feel free to hit me up on irc (cturra) to pass this along.

Naveed - i have the blog mostly ready to go, but still need the "official blog title" from you. an example of some others are:
- blog.mozilla.org => News, notes and ramblings from the Mozilla project
- blog.mozilla.org/ux => Designing great products that make sense & bring joy

Chris is the blog live live? I see it is up. We have our first post but planet didn't seem to pick it up.
I would like to outsource the tagline to a team vote as a team building exercise. Can we do that without holding up the blog's inclusion in Planet?

You may need to file a separate bug for being added to Planet. See bug 674551 for an example.

:mccr8 is correct, you need to open a bug to have this blog aggregated to planet.

that's fine by me, i will leave it as is and close this bug as resolved. you should have access yourself to updating this title as an administrator of the blog.

Hi all,
Everyone okay with me submitting a Web Dev bug to have this blog skinned with the One Mozilla Blog theme?

Mardi - the use of the One Mozilla theme requires approval from PR. lets get this request through a new bug pls.

Thanks Chris,
I think I am now the approver from that side (PR). Since the blog itself was approved to live on the mozilla domain, by PR, my understanding is that the skin should come with that. What do you recommend?
