(Whiteboard: [Snappy:?][tpi:+])
When for some reason libcanberra fails to initialize its sound driver properly (and this happens to me under some circumstances), ca_context_play hangs for a few moments, which leads to the UI hanging when opening menus.
The best part is that this happens even when ca_context_play doesn't end up playing any sound. Filed libcanberra bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53845
