784084 - Nightly crashes when I enable sync in background

Even with a phone reboot, I now consistently get

"The application Nightly ... has stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again [Force close]"

This is with in accounts and sync:

Background data [x]
Auto-sync [x]

and sync enabled for nightly.  In addition to crashing over and over again, this also seems to take a lot of battery power

The two setting mentioned are not Fx Sync specific. So just to be clear; does it crash if there isn't a Firefox Sync account setup?

If i disable sync for nightly i do not get crash dialogs

Jeff. sorry about the verbage confusion, but do you mean disable the Auto-sync setting or disable Firefox Sync?

Disabling sync for nightly from the "Accounts and sync" page.

No, it doesn't seem to show up in about:crashes, I guess because the OS terminates it?

Also, if it helps, its a Samsung Galaxy S with android 2.2

Ah, actually it crashed with a report ID this time (though i'm not 100% sure this one was sync-related): 50dabfb3-f3d9-04b4-4c8bbaca-7529f202

Hmmm, which doesn't seem to show up in https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/query/query?query_type=simple&do_query=1&query=50dabfb3-f3d9-04b4-4c8bbaca-7529f202 o_O (yes, I've double-checked the number)

Yes, Beta and Release, though neither has sync enabled.

ABICT, now that I have successfully navigated from about:crashes (formerly, in my attempts, clicking on a report either did not navigate or also resulted/concluded in a crash), this seems to be a duplicate of bug 769671. Going to close as such, though if more information is sought I can try to debug further.
