STR:

1) Install add-on Exif Viewer version 1.800000000001: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/exif-viewer/versions/?page=1#version-1.800000000001
2) Open add-ons manager and click on "Check for Updates"
3) Check the error console (tab about "warnings")

Result:
Firefox 14 fails to update Exif Viewer to its last update.
Check the compatibility reports, many users like me are stuck to version 1.800000000001 although there are 4 versions more recent behind:

Warning message in Error console:

Workaround: the user needs to remove Exif Viewer version 1.800000000001 and reinstall the last version manually.

Firefox is behaving as intended here because version 1.800000000001 is actually the newest version here not 1.86, since 800000000001 is larger than 86. The author needs to release a version 2.0 in order to make something newer that users will update to.
