Seen while looking at crash stats. Although low volume, this is a startup crash and may increase as more people move over to this extension.  http://www.penango.com/ indicates this is the successor to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/gmail-smime/.

The extension ID seems to be http://www.systemlookup.com/FF_Extensions/834-Gmail_S_MIME.html.

The Penango folks got back to me and say that the recently released 2.0.4 version should not cause these crashes. Can we get confirmation on this? Also, is Gmail S/MIME (as listed on AMO) affected at all?

https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/2a50a617-7bb6-4307-a571-a51a42120823 is someone running with Version 2.0.4 that crashes, so that version apparently doesn't fix the issue.

{4c197c8f-a50f-4b49-a2d2-ed922c95612f} ID shows up when you install the addon from AMO (Version 0.5.2), but it seems to the have the same ID as the 2.0.4 version in the crash above. So I am assuming it is the same addon.

Penango 2.0.5 should address the crashing problem on Mac OS X:

The problem seems to be related to [unnecessary...] changes in the nsIXULAppInfo interface in Firefox 15.0. Should be okay now.

I'm marking this bug as WORKSFORME as bug crashlog signature didn't appear from a long time (over half year) in Firefox.
