Hello,

Firefox 14.0.1 on Win Vista.

My Downloads window says in her title "de 1 fichier". See this screen photo :
http://screencast.com/t/FQUmYTzox4nt

This is wrong. In French an elision in required. Please replace that with "d'1 fichier".

Thank you for correcting that little bug.

See also file bug 680708.

Note that this is possibly moot due to the new download panel design: https://wiki.mozilla.org/User:P.A./Panel-based_Download_Manager/Status
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
The new download panel has landed in Firefox 20 and is enabled by default. But the old window can still be accessed via browser.download.useToolkitUI , and is maybe still enabled by default in other products (?)

Do you think it's still worth changing http://hg.mozilla.org/l10n-central/fr/file/default/toolkit/chrome/mozapps/downloads/downloads.properties#l125 into:
downloadsTitlePercent=#2% d'#1 fichier - Téléchargements;#2% de #1 fichiers - Téléchargements
Yes. And, as I explained in another request, it would be better to put the part "Téléchargements" at the beginning.

No, the meaningful information is displayed at the beginning on purpose.
That way you can see the progress on the taskbar for systems that don't have a visual indicator.
I found two references to a "rule" saying that there should be no elision before a cardinal number, which seem to be the case here:
* http://www.etudes-litteraires.com/grammaire/elision.php
* http://pages.videotron.com/langueau/

No elision also seems to be the most popular choice:

Thanks Benoit for digging in this issue. I agree with you, let's keep the current string.
