78584 - Folder names disappear after moving the splitter to the left

Build 2001-05-02-04: WinME
Build 2001-05-02-08: Mac 9.04

Overview: Drag the splitter between the folder pane/thread pane as far to the
left as possible. Then move it to the right.

Actual Results: 
- WinME: The folder pane becomes blank leaving only the mail icons.
- Mac 9.04: The folder pane becomes blank leaving only the mail icons and a
vertical lines appears directly to the right of the mail icons.

Workaround: Collapse and expand the account and it forces a redraw.

Expected Results: The folders should reappear after dragging the splitter wider.

Hmm.  I'm not sure if I'm seeing the same thing on Win98.  I can't drag the
splitter very far to the left, because the program snaps it open to what seems
like the intrinsic width of the sidebar, even if the sidebar is collapsed or
hidden(is there a bug filed on that?).  Anyway, I can drag it far enough to
cause a few of my deepest folders to to be truncated with ellipses, and these
aren't immediately restored when I widen it.  I hardly think that is a major
problem though, in fact I doubt many people would even notice.  Is that what
you're reporting?

I can duplicate both nbaca's bug and trudelle's "pops back open bug".

(nbaca is going to look for or log the "pops back open" bug.)

the outliner doesn't have this problem.  so, this might be another "switch to
outliner" bug.  

but we should check with hyatt first.

Okay, I didn't catch that this is mainly a problem in the alternate layout,
where the splitter is only between the folder & thread panes, and the message
pane goes all the way across. (where there is also no pop-back) ->hyatt

Sorry for the confusion, this bug where the folder names disappear happens in
the regular 3pane and alt-3pane. 

I initially noticed this problem while using the alt-3pane and in an older build
where the pop-back problem was not as prominent.
Note: The problem with the splitter popping back is bug# 78790.
