Build ID: 20120825192214

Steps to reproduce:

I use my Android 9,7" tablet in portrait mode, there are a couple of ergonomics issues working like that.

Actual results:

When holding it portrait I have to move my hand to the top left to open/close the tab bar, and have to hit either the top left or top right corner with my thumb to go back a page. The bottom left has the android Back button, the browser has its own back button in top left.

Expected results:

My hands/thumbs are approximately halfway the tablet. I was expecting these controls to be controlled by a gesture or have a button somewhere where my hands are, like the Junior concept on iOS has.

Ian, ping?

Anything actionable here? If so, please mark as new.
While it would be interesting to explore, we have no near term UX plans to add this. Might be nice as an add-on?

What's the status of this? Do we still want an add-on?

We are kicking off a pretty major refresh to the tablet tabs UI here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1014156. The controls being asked for in this bug have been explored, but won't be part of the initial refresh. It is something we do want to add, though.
