I got the Moz nightly build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/2001-05-02-22-trunk/mozilla-win32.zip I got no Mail function at all... Cannot find it on Taskbar. Cannot find it on Task Menu. Freakin' frustrated...
Mail starts with mozilla -mail, also seeing this menu item is missing on Linux CVS pulled 0930 UTC 3rd May.
In 2001050304 build for Mac OS9, Mail/News became unavailable after quit and relaunch. It was available right after installation. Confirming, and raising severity, adding keyword. I can not change it to start with mail from preferences either, because no option is listed there.

I suspect it has something to do with preferences, because even after starting Mail by double clicking Mozilla Messenger file to lanch Mozilla, there is no Mail/News or Composer under Preferences|Appearance|When Mozilla starts up Open.
Since there is a workaround to start Mail, downgrading to critical.

Now in 050308 trunk build, Mail is back in the task menu and the icons are there. However, my Mail account is lost! Launching Mail starts Account Wizard. Adding dataloss KW.
Keywords: dataloss
Mail and its icons came back only at the first launch after installing the 050308 build. On the second launch, it is back to the state described in this bug. The preferences has been rewritten and mail/news account information are now listed as null.
After third launch, double clicking Messenger file no longer opens Mail/News window. Putting back smoketest KW and raising to blocker.
