I don't get the crash with gdb but logcat says:

I don't think so but I am investigating.

No there shouldn't be a data loss risk here. But it is still crashing.

If we get a crash indicator for this, please re-nom.  If it's just log entries, blocking-basecamp-.

It's a quite old bug. I don't think this is happening anymore. Gregor, could you confirm and close it?
no movement on this bug for a long time.

Tested with 12/17/2012 update build, and did not see this as an issue.

The contact app was able to be killed cleanly. 

1) opened contact app
2) adb logcat
3) killed contact app
Status: NEW → RESOLVED
