Steps to reproduce:
I have a GTK theme with dark menubars/toolbars.
With the new theme, the tab's color is almost unreable since it's gray on gray. The tab borders are totally impossible to see.
Expected results:
The text should be readable: much as it is on firefox.
I'm including a side-by-side screenshot of what firefox looks like, and thunderbird looks like.

"The tab border are totally impossible to see" are because there are no tab borders for inactive tabs anymore. :)
That said, the font needs some work. Confirming.

Hugo, is the text still almost unreadable with a actual TB? It should use now the same colors as FX.

The reduced opacity is removed in bug 1244451.
