Saw this on: Win32 2001-05-02-04Mtrunk Mac 2001-05-03-09Mtrunk Thanks to Gail for catching this one. Steps to repro: 0) Logged into IMAP mail (Not sure if this matters) 1) Attach the cymk.jpg file on this bug to a new email message. Send it to yourself. 2) Retrieve Mail. 3) Click once on the email you just sent yourself to view it in the mail read pane. Actual results: You will crash out of NS6.5 on Win This locked up my Mac so bad I had to force a reboot with the reset button. Linux was OK (5/03 build), though the jpg file seemed to be "chopped" when when viewed in the mail read pane. NOTE: The same file can be viewed successfully in NS Mail 4.7 Crash clicking on mail in thread pane Talkback Incident ID: 29961295 below: Trigger Type: Program Crash <http://climate.mcom.com/images/spacer.gif> Trigger Reason: Access violation <http://climate.mcom.com/images/spacer.gif> Thread ID: <http://climate.mcom.com/images/spacer.gif> Call Stack: (Signature = MSVCRT.dll + 0x1041 (0x78001041) 6ce143f1) MSVCRT.dll + 0x1041 (0x78001041) nsJPEGDecoder::WriteFrom [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\modules\libpr0n\decoders\jpeg\nsJPEGDecoder.cpp, line 443] imgRequest::OnDataAvailable [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\modules\libpr0n\src\imgRequest.cpp, line 771] ProxyListener::OnDataAvailable [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\modules\libpr0n\src\imgLoader.cpp, line 374] nsMimeBaseEmitter::Complete [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\mailnews\mime\emitters\src\nsMimeBaseEmitter.cpp, line 866] nsStreamConverter::OnStopRequest [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\mailnews\mime\src\nsStreamConverter.cpp, line 996] nsImapCacheStreamListener::OnStopRequest [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\mailnews\imap\src\nsImapProtocol.cpp, line 6781] nsStorageTransport::nsReadRequest::Process [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\netwerk\base\src\nsStorageTransport.cpp, line 477] nsStorageTransport::nsReadRequest::OnDataAvailable [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\netwerk\base\src\nsStorageTransport.cpp, line 599] XPTC_InvokeByIndex [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\xpcom\reflect\xptcall\src\md\win32\xptcinvoke.cpp, line 139] EventHandler [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\xpcom\proxy\src\nsProxyEvent.cpp, line 510] PL_HandleEvent [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\xpcom\threads\plevent.c, line 589] PL_ProcessPendingEvents [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\xpcom\threads\plevent.c, line 522] _md_EventReceiverProc [d:\builds\seamonkey\mozilla\xpcom\threads\plevent.c, line 1070] <http://climate.mcom.com/images/spacer.gif>

You can simply load the crasher jpeg into the browser to get a crash.
Taking back what was said about Linux, it hung up the session in modern and classic there. Also classic on win crashed too. (Ran mail with -mail parameter as it was note possiblw to launch from browser todays builds) So this is a browser bug?
