Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20120827 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20120827042008 Steps to reproduce: Open a new tab with browser.newtabpage.enabled set to true and about:newtab populated with top sites miniatures. Click on any of those miniatures to quickly check on a top site, then try to press the back button to quickly get back to the newtab page and repeat with another site. Actual results: The back button now doesn't work because it has been disabled on about:newtab as per bug 724239 (see:https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=724239) As a consequence,it is now impossible to effortlessly perform the above mentioned steps. Expected results: The back button should work on about:newtab as before,as the inability to quickly get back to the top sites after checking one of them is in fact an annoying usability loss:after quickly checking one of my top sites (they are called like that for a reason, which is that one would eventually want to check each of them as swiftly and effortlessly as possible) now I can't actually go back to the list and immediately open another one, instead I'm forced to open another tab and so on. That this can still be accomplished in a number of other ways, starting with bookmarking about:newtab and assigning it a keyword doesn't take away from the fact that the fastest and better flowing way of doing this has actually been removed with bug 724239,not to mention the highly appropriate comment 8 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=724239#c8
