After the Vidyo upgrade listed below, the download available from v.mozilla.org is only built for i386, not i686. The new file seems to be designed for Ubuntu, not Debian, based on the file name, though I didn't test whether it implements the unorthodox OS-checking noted in bug 701083.

after the server downtime.


This update will affect all Mac, Windows, and Linux clients.

We will be performing a software update to the Vidyo servers that will
require all Vidyo Desktop client software to be updated.  This is a
major upgrade with some very significant upgrade features:

  * Login through the Desktop client saves your password
  * Full screen sharing for the OS X client
  * Official Linux support
      o SLC 5, SLC 5.7 - 32/64 bit version
      o Ubuntu 10.04, 10.10, 11.04, 11.10 - 32/64 bit version
      o Fedora Core 14, 15, 16 - 32/64 bit version
      o Debian 5.0, 6.0.3 - 32/64 bit version

  * VidyoMobile clients can join guest links
  * Silence All features allows room owners to mute all with users being
    able to unmute themselves
  * Improved echo cancellation and automatic preferred device selection

As for the nonpackaged tars, I have asked Vidyo about this and it is with their Engineering team for a response.
