Steps to reproduce:
I searched through all mailbox for a mail containing a specific string either in the subject line or in the message
Actual results:
2 or 3 minutes into the search Thunderbird crashed.
Expected results:
It should have been stable and delivered a search result

Can we get a crash id as per https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/thunderbird-crashes?s=crash+id
No can do, when I try to click on Details in the Crash Report window nothing happens...I guess that also is a bug.
Can you see in tools->options->Advanced ->General if there is an option to disabled sending of crash reports?

In sfae-mode it should work. I think you are hitting bug 770262 but I'd need a crash id to confirm.

still need crash report per https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter#w_viewing-crash-reports
but if crash can't reproduce in safe mode ...
