Steps to reproduce:

1. open firefox browser
2. entered a search term in google page
3. right clicked on one of the links from the search results and clicked on open in new tab


Actual results:

1. link opened in new browser window.

occured rarely


Expected results:

1. it should have opened in another tab of the same window

Maybe there is a setting you have changed that causes this.  https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-preferences-and-settings mentions something which may be related, but with no detail I can see.
