No. I edited the topics of these two articles yesterday
I click on that Advanced Search url and I see both of those articles. So in the last three hours, it seems the problem went away.

Indeed, it's now taken into account more than twelve hours after the edit. Is the KB still refreshed once a day because of the forced daily reindexing that was used to workaround bug 776014?
So, two things:

1. The daily reindexing of the wiki wasn't instituted to work around bug #776014. We added that to handle the 30-day helpful vote recalculations. It's still happening and will continue for the foreseeable future.

2. I have no idea exactly when you did your edit (you said "yesterday" which isn't an exact time and the History page doesn't tell me, either) and all the symptoms are gone now, so I can only speculate. Sounds like your theory is correct, but I have no way to be sure.

When you add Hot topic to an article, it can take up to one day (reindexing around 12H UTC) so that it shows up in the Hot topic section.

I approved this article (Products: desktop & mobile, Topics "Hot topics") https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-release-notes-whats-new-and-known-issues/revision/33292 at Oct 21, 2012 11:12:19 AM PDT. As of 16:20 PM PDT it still hasn't shown up in search or in "Hot Topics".

That's a different issue. I see that article is a redirect and we don't show redirects when browsing the IA (Hot topics is driven by IA). We'll need to adjust the logic if we want to allow redirects for Hot Topics, but that' would be a different bug.

This specific bug only applies to translations.

No. It's applicable to the English KB and localized KBs.

The English KB has a delay but it is in minutes, not hours or a day.

True for keywords, wrong for topics. Topics are updated once a day around 12H UTC.

Adding the link as a redirect was a workaround of its missing status below the download button (only Privacy Policy and All languages and platforms) so I don't think we need redirects for Hot Topics but instead a new link below the download button (see bug 801587).

I tried this on allizom and the hot topics section was updated immediately (for English and localizations), so I'll assume it was an issue with the redirect article.

As far as I can tell in the English KB everything happens almost instantaneously (at least on allizom), but for locales topics and product changes are delayed, whereas keyword and title changes are indexed immediately.

Based on this I'm updating the title of this bug. If someone would like to test how long the changes to topics and products take to be indexed, let me know please.

However, assuming the time it takes is less than 24 hours the priority for this is rather low, as we don't change topic and product infos often (actually, it's very seldom) and the hot topic switch works immediately already.

Okay, just checked, and it takes only a few minutes for the topic and product info to propagate. Yes, it would be even better to have it happen immediately, but I don't see this as a bug anymore.

Feel free to reopen, if I misunderstood something or you have a different experience.
