What linux distro are you using? This is the same problem as I am having. This is the same as Bug 78874.

I have a Red Hat (6.2 too AFAIK, but I'm not sure). The proposed fix works, with a small change as I don't have a root access: ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-2-libc6.1-1-2.9.0.so ~/i686-linux/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3
