User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1
Build ID: 20120905151427
Steps to reproduce:
Open Firefox sync and find it's way too confusing to use and little bit useless.
Actual results:
- Firefox Sync isn't really useful as it is. It's useful just for backing up our settings.
- It doesn't tell us how many instances we've synced nor where are they located.
- It can't be set to avoid syncing some option in only one of the Firefox's instances without (all instances are affected)
- It cannot go back to an earlier syncing point.
Expected results:
- See DEMO: http://firefox.mayccoll.com/index.html (This demo assumes that the person already has an account with Firefox Sync)
- The user should be able to choose how he wants to set up Sync, whether just for the present Firefox session or permanently.
- The user should be able to choose what he wants to sync in each instance.
- Sync should have a Sync Manager so the user could manage how he wants to set up each one of his instances.
- Sync should have earlier restoration points.
- It should be able to sync the graphic options too, the button's and the other component's locations
- One should be able to select which addons we want to sync.
- An element is deleted from Sync when it's not selected in any instance.

Thanks for taking the time to draw this up.
Fine-grained configuration of Sync has never been a goal; our aim right now is to simplify the user experience, particularly during setup, rather than complicate it to support more sophisticated users.
Device management has been on our roadmap for a while, and we'll end up addressing backup at some point. But because we're already moving in a very different direction to the main thrust of this bug, I'm going to close this bug as WONTFIX.
If you have more detailed questions, feel free to come chat to us in IRC: irc.mozilla.org, #sync.
Thanks!
