Per bug 789352 comment 11 - the temporary policy exception granted there needs to be time bound. This bug opened to allow explicit visibility into all the precursor steps needed to achieve this.

All b2g data and scripts have been moved out of /home/hwine, and now reside under /opt/vcs2vcs on both hosts: github-sync1.dmz.scl3.mozilla.com github-sync1-dev.dmz.scl3.mozilla.com Please ensure the /opt/vcs2vcs directory tree is getting backed up as soon as practical, as described in bug 791296 comment 7. (The mana docs don't show this as backed up: https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/SYSADMIN/git-%3Ehg+conversion+machines)
Created a new policy to backup /opt/vcs2vcs. A full backup on tape is running now, then regular schedules will follow.
