RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 789773

People

(Reporter: judahrichardson, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0
Build ID: 20120914030538

Steps to reproduce:

Click on the Tweet button here (or on any other page containing such a button) http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Middle-East/2012/0914/Protests-sweep-Islamic-world-fueled-by-domestic-politics-anti-US-anger/%28page%29/3

Actual results:

Absolutely nothing.

Expected results:

A window containing a tweet should have been generated.
Hardware: x86 → x86_64
I've tried the following to resolve this issue:

Disabling all add-ons
Opening Firefox in a new profile
Clearing recent history
Checking the Error Console (no errors when the button is clicked)
Resetting Firefox

None have worked.
Clicking the "tweet" link opens a popup for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 SeaMonkey/2.15a1

Note: I don't have a twitter account
I'm able to get it working for 1 link only after reinstalling Nightly, but every other link thereafter fails. Same issue on Aurora 32-bit, Nightly 32-bit, Beta 32-bit. Only Firefox 15 doesn't have the issue on my machine.
WFM windows 7 x64 nightly build 9-15-12 with above link.

I did get a popup warning, perhaps this is related?

have either of you (or is it the default to have) disabled the Content/block popup windows preference?
I've gotten that a few times, but even when I toggle that setting the problem persists.
WFM here with the latest Nightly. Do you have some third-party add-ons/plugins injected into your profile which can block pop-ups?
As I said here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=791401#c1 the problem persists even after disabling all add-ons, resetting the browser, uninstalling + rebooting + reinstalling clean.
Seems fixed for me in latest Nightly build. This is the only Nightly bug that has forced me to switch away from the channel, so I hope it stays fixed :)

Thanks!
I guess that this is a dupe of bug 789773

hey, that was a minor issue compared to bugs that we sometimes had 6+ years ago in nightly builds :-)
