Nightly 18.0a1 2012-09-18 Device: Samsung Galaxy R (Android 2.3.4), HTC Desire Z (Android 2.3.3) Steps to reproduce: 1. Load nypost.com and open a article from the page 1. Tap on reader mode icon. 2. Scroll down the page and rotate the device. Expected results: The text position should be kept on rotation. Actual results: The text position changes on rotation and becomes confusing for the reader.
I'm unable to reproduce this with 09/19 on the Galaxy Nexus. I used the article [1], scrolled down to the bottom and rotated to landscape and was still viewing the bottom, rotated back and no difference. Not sure how font inflation and reader mode interact, but this could be a dupe of bug 755770.
I wonder how hard should we try to get keep scrolling position. When you change orientation, the text will likely wrap lines differently (i.e. larger horizontal space in landscape mode) which will cause a relayout and change the position of the text in the page. Ian, any thoughts?
