The Jetpack project is actively working on the Add-on SDK tool for creating Firefox add-ons. I'd like for us to be more visible on mozilla.org, guessing the best place would be here:

Can I get a reading on what priority this bug currently has? 

Also, if i was going to take this bug, is there some documented way to easily contribute the necessary changes? A pull request against a github repo, for example?

There is a request to update the products/projects page in bug 900506. Jeff can you please take look at comment #52 in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=900506#c52 which has some questions on Jetpack
