If the page has <pre> or <code> or monospace font (to emphasize code), they aren't preserved in Reader mode.
Here is a test page:

In the screenshot, the jagged "element1", "element2" looks fine on original page.

You mean, it breaks lines? That's intentional. Another option could be to add scrollbars to preformatted elements, which I originally considered worse. Ian, what do you think?
I've tried to enable Reader Mode when visiting http://writersopt.com/ as the tips say, but there is no icon.
