This means that it is not on the snapshot.
This means that it is not on most re-imaged machines.

At some point I tried setting the package as "setup" but as soon as one slave with the name "talos-r3-xp-ref" talks with OPSI it marks it as "installed".

We should deploy it on the talos-r3-xp-ref machine and ask for IT to take a new snapshot and mark it as "always". "always" will ensure that every slave would be fixed. We can revert after that.

C:\mozilla-build\msys\bin\md5sum.exe C:\mozilla-build\python25\Lib\site-packages\twisted\internet\_dumbwin32proc.py
\e224dac9b2701239f9c182163c0bf23b *C:\\mozilla-build\\python25\\Lib\\site-packages\\twisted\\internet\\_dumbwin32proc.py

Correct value:
\434d35b728de5cb8fe96afcb9f9f34d9 *C:\\mozilla-build\
\python25\\Lib\\site-packages\\twisted\\internet\\_du
mbwin32proc.py
Armens-MacBook-Air:opsi-package-sources armenzg$ md5 twisted_dumbwin32proc/CLIENT_DATA/_dumbwin32proc.py
MD5 (twisted_dumbwin32proc/CLIENT_DATA/_dumbwin32proc.py) = 434d35b728de5cb8fe96afcb9f9f34d9

Because every day we learn something new about OPSI.

Can you double check things like passwords and other recent changes to make sure the ref machine is fully up to date, too?

Can't we just mark it for "setup" on each slave once? The slaves should be talking to OPSI under their own name at least once before they're in the production pool.

The curse of who finds the problem first :)

Good point!

We would still need to take the snapshot for the ref machine.
I marked the package as "setup" for all XP slaves.

Install _dumbinw32proc.py always

This patch is not needed anymore.

We're going to take a snapshot because re-imaged slaves have the old password and we want to grab the correct _dumbwin32proc.py.

I have downloaded the file:
C:\mozilla-build\msys\bin\md5sum.exe C:\mozilla-build\python25\Lib\site-packages\twisted\internet\_dumbwin32proc.py

I also cleaned up the Desktop and created a ref_image_version.txt with this contents:
> 20120528 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=751109
> 20120927 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=794617

I think it is not a bad idea to keep track snapshots like this.

This is documented in here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReferencePlatforms/Test/WinXP#Deployed_correct_dumbwin32proc.py_and_ref_image_version.txt

##################
This can be determined by running this:
* reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v DefaultPassword
and this:
C:\mozilla-build\msys\bin\md5sum.exe C:\mozilla-build\python25\Lib\site-packages\twisted\internet\_dumbwin32proc.py
Blocks: 795032
This is fixed as IT took a snapshot.
