I'm having problem with the select fields in this form. They display nothing
other than the options (no scrollbar). And clicking on an option doesn't
visibly hilight it (unless I force redraw by scrolling or minimize/restore).
I edited it down to two select fields, one in a span element, one without the
span. The one without displays right and gives feedback. The one without doesn't.
