The new tab page has been implemented in recent times; but it can be a lot better (as I previously stated in the original bug report). I suggest a modular design which contains information; i.e. it'll have categories of pages (or URLs) which have been grouped by certain criteria. By this I mean, the thumbnails will will be split by categories (or 'folded') in the same way as we see in the advanced search form of the bugzilla, where the Search By People, Search By Change History, and Custum search category has been grouped/folded. For the mean time I suggest the following criteria - 1) recently closed pages 2) frequently opened pages (or the 'most visited') 3) Bookmarks 3) Search box for history and bookmarks. In each of these categories (except the search box), there'll be a thumbnail preview of all the pages, this preview will be the last snapshot of the page. When a user hovers the mouse over the thumbnails, it enlarges showing live preview of the page (i.e. page starts loading once the user hovers his mouse on it). This list of thumbnails will be scrollable (i.e. it'll be a long list of thumbnails). For the interface, I suggest, hovering over the categories will open them up automatically. If you've used KDE 4.6 or above, this'll be more like the notification widget -- just hovering the mouse over the heading of the notification opens it up.
