Paul, could you check if this happens in Fx16b6, Fx17, and nightly?

Yes, it's reproducible on all of them on Win XP, 7, 8 and Ubuntu 12.04.
Strange though it seems to work fine on Mac OS X 10.7.4.
OS: Windows 8 → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Is this a regression at all? If not, I'm not going to track it; QuickTime perf is just not important enough to focus on.
Can't tell for sure. Seems to be working better on FF 4.0.1 (Win 7 x64), but I would say that is not good enough in comparison with Chrome's behavior.
Is this still reproducible with the latest Nightly and Quicktime?

Yes, Nightly 20.0a1 (2013-01-06), Quicktime 7.7.3.0, Win 7 x86.
