These 2 HP boxes are bad. Could they please be replaced with 2 HP DL360 G4 or HP DL385 G1 from the spare pile ? I've made notes in the inventory about them. One has a borked disk controller that needs a firmware reset/upgrade, the other one doesn't boot and hangs during memory check. Thanks. iLO information can be reused. Systems have been marked red in the inventory: https://inventory.mozilla.org/en-US/systems/racks/?rack=203
Since the spare asset list didn't specify exact configurations for the DL 360s left, I have a preference for quantity: - More RAM - More Disk - More CPUs So if it's possible, lean towards the heavier boxes in the lot. Thanks!
:gozer, going from HP - DL360 G5 to a G4 is a big step down in hardware. I believe the current node euca14.phy.labs.scl3.mozilla.com has 16gb of memory while the G4 only has 4gb of memory. The memory is old as well, its PC2700 memory so we don't have any larger modules lying around AFAIK. If you want we can give you 2 HP DL 360 G4 with 6x146gb scsi drives (more disk), and the ones we have in storage have 8gb of memory.
correction: We can give you 2 HP DL 385 G1 with 6x146gb and 8gb of RAM out of storage if that will work for you.

Given that this rack is Eucalyptus, and that heterogeneous hardware is fine with it, it's prefectly fine. As long as the hardware boots and runs, I'll take it. Just curious, what's the CPUs in there ? But go for it, just replace with that. Thanks!
Hi Gozer, The CPUs are AMD Duo Core 2.2ghz. Inventory is updated for the 2 nodes and I set their status to building. https://inventory.mozilla.org/en-US/systems/racks/?rack=203 I have marked the 2 old nodes as bad in inventory and we'll get them recycled soon. Please let me know if there are any issues. Thanks, Van
Replacement asset 01101 for euca14 doesn't seem to get any DHCP responses, could it be hooked up into the wrong VLAN. Should be in labs-physical (vlan 111)
Also, asset 1134 has an ESX install CD in it's drive, mildly annoying.
Re-opening because of the networking issue.
removed dvd and fixed networking issue. Van
