Created attachment 665598 [details] git pre-commit hook to catch dns failures I know the life of manual entries into svn for dns is limited, though I'm curious if we could add a pre-commit hook into svn to forbid syntactically broken commits into dns. I'm using git-svn and when I commit to my repo, it's rejected so me breaking dns (at least in the torrent-of-email respect) shouldn't happen. Attached what I use if you are interested though it wouldn't directly apply to svn without at least a couple changes.
I'll look into this, but the way we weirdly do includes and whatnot, I'm worried about false positives. If this works fine with your git setup, then I can quickly change this to work with svn without much trouble.
Too much of a time crunch here, I'm not sure we can look into this anywhere in this quarter, will revisit later.
Don't bother. Inventory should be doing DNS by Q1 and if it's not... i'll be sad.
